The River Coquet rises in the glorious Cheviot Hills in Northumberland and wends it’s way through Coquetdale and part of the Northumberland National Park before reaching the North Sea at Amble. Holystone, a village known for it’s “Lady’s Well” (a site of early Christian baptisms) is on the north bank of the river.
