"Reclamation Percy Pit"
"Reclamation Percy Pit"
from £32.50
The pit heap overshadowed Lemington pit village, which was demolished in the 1960s, and John re-visited this subject often throughout his life. This former coal mining area – as the title suggests – has now been reclaimed, the pit heap largely flattened and what remains of it and the pit village is now a large green space used for recreational purposes. It is home now to a wide variety of wildlife, including a rare grassland butterfly called the “Dingy Skipper”.
